How the Katherine Cary Process Works

How it works

Start by completing a short HIPPA-compliant questionnaire in which you’ll be asked to provide your medical history, current symptoms and treatment goals, so our medical team can assess your eligibility for a GLP-1 medication.

After completing the questionnaire, our medical team will evaluate the information in order to assess the best pathway to potential coverage for GLP-1 therapy, based on your medical need and insurance benefits.

If you are found to be eligible after the coverage assessment, you’ll receive instructions and guidance from our team regarding any pertinent lab tests, medical exams or additional documentation required in order to support authorization / approval by your insurance. In many cases, these tests are covered by insurance — if not, we’ll clearly explain any potential out-of-pocket costs before you proceed. We will also help to schedule everything, if possible, through your preferred providers.

After the required tests are completed, our physicians will then submit a pre-authorization as the first step in obtaining insurance approval for your recommended medication.

Upon completion of all the required steps, our medical team will conduct a final review and, if the necessary criteria are met, will authorize your GLP-1 prescription for final approval.

Upon approval, your prescription will be sent to your pharmacy — and you’ll enjoy insurance savings that make GLP-1 treatment accessible and affordable.

What is Katherine Cary?

Katherine Cary is a premier weight management program, powered by licensed physicians and pharmacies. We are committed to supporting you in your journey towards weight loss and better health.

What kind of medication can be prescribed?

Our licensed providers can prescribe any FDA-approved GLP-1 medication, including popular options like Ozempic®, Wegovy®, Mounjaro®, Zepbound® and others, depending on your medical needs and insurance coverage.

Is it a subscription?

Yes, our service works on a monthly subscription basis. This ensures that you receive continuous medical support, updated prescriptions, and assistance with insurance coverage (and re-authorization) each month. You’ll be billed automatically, and can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your account.

Will I be charged if I don’t qualify?

If you’re not found to be eligible for insurance coverage, but a GLP-1 medication is appropriate for your care, you will have two options:

  • We can still prescribe the best medication for you and help you get it at the lowest possible self-pay price, or
  • You can choose to have your subscription canceled and your payment fully refunded.
